Cellphones at Amboy
Students will not be allowed to have their cell phones out during school. We have many phones on campus where parents can call and get a message to their student. If students bring their phones to school, phones go into their backpack and stay in their backpacks between the hours of 7:40-2:15 daily.
When students head to the bus they can pull out their phones and use them. The bus is an extension of school, progressive discipline can be enforced.
Students that decide to take out their phones during school time will be subject to progressive discipline as needed according to our district cell phone policy. Reference: School Board Policy 3245 - Students and Telecommunication Devices
Students who violate this policy will be subject to progressive disciplinary action up to and including confiscation of the device and/or losing the privilege of bringing the device onto school property.
Students may not photograph, videotape, or otherwise record anyone without their explicit permission. Cell phones with camera features may not be used in restrooms or locker rooms when students are present.
Students are responsible for all cell phones/electronic devices they bring to school. The district shall not be responsible for loss, theft, or destruction of such devices brought onto school property, even when confiscated.
Students shall not send, share, view, or possess pictures, text messages, emails, or other material of a sexually explicit nature (Sexting) in electronic or any other form of cell phone or electronic device, while students are on school property.
