The side of a school bus that reads, "First Student; Battle Ground Public Schools"

Student safety extends beyond the walls of our schools. For students who ride buses, the work begins before the vehicle ever leaves the lot. Each year, the Washington State Patrol conducts comprehensive inspections of 100% of school buses, with additional unannounced checks throughout the year. The inspections take a close look at critical safety components like brakes, lights, stop signs, warning signals and emergency exits. If a bus has a safety hazard, it is immediately taken out of service.

For two consecutive years, Battle Ground has earned a letter of achievement from the WSP and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction for meeting the strict inspection criteria and demonstrating exceptional results. Kudos to the district’s transportation team and First Student for working together to keep students safe!
